Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming with dignity and compassion
• Provide safe, attentive bedside care and observe changes in condition to inform the care team
• Support mobility, transfers, and safe positioning to promote comfort and prevent injury
• Record vital signs and accurately document care and observations in resident charts
• Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and interdisciplinary staff to ensure coordinated care
• Maintain infection control practices and a clean, safe environment for residents

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — required
• Current state-specific CNA credentials for Pennsylvania (or ability to obtain) — required
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred but not required
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Strong communication skills, reliability, and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient-centered care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Basic clinical skills: taking vitals, safe transfers, and charting
• Infection prevention and standard precautions
• Empathy, patience, and effective communication with residents and families
• Ability to follow care plans and escalate concerns to nursing staff
