Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and document patients’ condition, reporting changes promptly to the care team
• Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and positioning to promote mobility and comfort
• Support mealtime, hygiene, and toileting needs while preserving dignity
• Collaborate with nurses and staff to maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment
• Engage residents with respectful communication and emotional support

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — required
• Current state registration or certification in Pennsylvania — required
• Previous experience in long-term care or acute care settings preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable with direct patient care, ADLs, and basic clinical tasks
• Good communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with nursing staff
• Ability to follow care plans, safety protocols, and infection control practices
• Strong observational skills for noticing and reporting changes in condition
• Compassion, patience, and a person-centered approach to care
