Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing function to create meaningful, patient-centered plans
• Design and implement individualized therapy interventions that help patients regain independence
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians, and family members to coordinate care and set measurable goals
• Document progress accurately and timely in the patient record to support continuity of care
• Provide education and coaching to caregivers and staff to extend therapy gains beyond sessions
• Participate actively in interdisciplinary team meetings to advocate for patient needs and discharge planning

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent)
• Valid Massachusetts SLP license (or compact/state equivalent) required
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred but strong clinical experience will be considered
• Experience with dysphagia management, cognitive-communication disorders, and rehabilitation populations
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain per facility policy
• Strong clinical documentation skills and comfort using electronic health records

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in evaluation and treatment of swallowing and communication disorders
• Familiarity with rehab and post-acute care workflows in skilled nursing settings
• Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills for working with patients and caregivers
• Solid clinical reasoning, goal writing, and outcome tracking
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt in a dynamic care environment
