Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver occupational therapy treatments under the supervision of the OTR, helping residents regain independence
• Implement treatment plans and document patient progress clearly and timely
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy team members, and families to coordinate care
• Educate patients and caregivers on safe transfers, ADLs, and home strategies to support recovery
• Use clinical reasoning to adjust interventions for functional improvement in a SNF setting
• Contribute to team meetings and discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions

Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
• Eligible for or holding Ohio licensure/registration as applicable
• Open to all experience levels — any experience accepted, including new grads
• Comfortable working in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) environment and able to float as needed
• Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset

Education

• Not specified in the posting — COTA credential and completion of an accredited OTA program generally expected

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with SNF patient populations and common OT interventions
• Skilled in ADL training, transfers, adaptive equipment recommendations
• Competent documentation and charting in a clinical setting
• Ability to prioritize caseloads and manage time effectively
• Team-oriented approach and clear caregiver education skills
