Certified Nursing Assistant

Location: Rio Rancho, NM

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (as-needed), 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM (Day shift); scheduled days vary based on facility needs

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $17 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
Monitor and record vital signs and communicate changes to the care team
Assist nursing staff with treatments and documentation to ensure safe, consistent care
Support mobility, feeding, hygiene, and bathing while promoting resident dignity
Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
Build positive relationships with residents and their families through effective communication

Qualifications

Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in New Mexico (required)
Completion of state-required background checks and immunizations
Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Comfort working 12+ hour day shifts and adapting to per diem schedules
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Previous experience in long-term care or similar settings is a plus

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program completion required

Knowledge & Skills

Hands-on patient care and assistance with ADLs
Accurate documentation and charting practices
Vital signs measurement and basic clinical observation
Infection control and safe handling techniques
Effective communication with residents, families, and clinical staff
Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
