Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity labor and delivery nursing care in LDR and triage settings
• Manage laboring patients through assessment, documentation and care planning
• Triage obstetric patients and coordinate appropriate escalation and transfer
• Assist and circulate for C-sections in the OR and support scrub roles when needed
• Administer and monitor epidurals, spinals and IV drips (including magnesium)
• Support PACU and antepartum care, coordinating seamlessly with the Level III NICU
• Document all care accurately in Meditech/CPN and communicate clearly with multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain patient safety and excellent patient experience during high-acuity situations

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery clinical experience
• BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications required
• AWOHHN Fetal Heart Rate Intermediate certification noted (preferred but unit indicates EFM intermediate is not required)
• Comfortable with scrub/circulating roles in the OR and high-acuity interventions
• Familiarity with Meditech and CPN documentation systems
• Ability to float within the women’s and children’s service line as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong skills in LDR management, OB triage and high-acuity maternal care
• Experience with C-sections, epidurals, spinals, cerclage and version procedures
• Competence managing IV drips including magnesium infusions
• OR circulation and scrub experience helpful
• PACU and antepartum room management experience
• Comfortable collaborating with Level III NICU and surgical teams
• Accurate, timely documentation and effective multidisciplinary communication
