Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered oncology nursing care on a 24-bed unit
• Administer and monitor chemo and other medications safely and accurately
• Perform assessments, implement nursing interventions, and document in Cerner
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams to support surgical and medical patients
• Respond to patient changes and assist with procedures such as thoracentesis and echoes
• Educate patients and families about treatments, medications, and discharge planning
• Support unit workflows and collaborate with colleagues to maintain safe patient ratios (typically 1:4 or 1:5)

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• CNA license listed among core team credentials (if applicable)
• BLS certification (required)
• Chemo Certification (preferred/nice-to-have)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (as indicated in the posting)
• Experience with oncology or med-surg patient populations and competency with Cerner EMR

Knowledge & Skills

• Oncology nursing practices and chemotherapy safety
• Med-Surg clinical skills and post-operative care
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical record
• Ability to manage patient loads at 1:4–1:5 ratios
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient education skills
• Familiarity with common unit procedures (echo, thoracentesis, occasional pelvic exams)
