Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide engaging clinical education and competency-based training for LTC nursing and CNA staff
• Partner with clinical leaders to standardize clinical competencies and support accreditation standards
• Design, implement, and evaluate curriculum and training programs tailored to adult learners
• Serve as a collaborative member of the Clinical Nursing Education team and contribute to consortium-wide projects
• Coordinate preceptorships and student clinical experiences with local universities
• Use evidence-based research to improve professional development activities and patient outcomes
• Act as a liaison for clinical education opportunities across the SEARHC consortium

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska or another U.S. state (must apply for Alaska license before start if direct hire)
• BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) from an accredited nursing program (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for providers required
• BLS Instructor certification preferred or must be obtained within 1 year of hire
• Clinical Competency assessment completion required within 3 months of hire and maintained per policy
• Minimum 5 years professional nursing experience with at least 2 years in long-term care
• 2 years of clinical instructor/educator experience (one year may be substituted with supervisory experience)
• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 30% by jet, small aircraft, and ferry

Education

• BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) — required; graduate of an accredited school of Nursing

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in adult and geriatric care and long-term care best practices
• Curriculum and training program development with competency-based assessment skills
• Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
• Experience applying evidence-based practice to education and quality improvement
• Familiarity with delivery modalities and tools: Microsoft Teams, Workday, Canva, Articulate, Smartsheet, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and in-person skills training
• Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and clinical leaders
• Policy compliance, accreditation awareness, and quality-focused teaching
• Physical ability to perform job duties, including occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
