Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert critical care to oncology and BMT ICU patients with compassion and attention to detail
• Manage ventilated patients and perform ventilator adjustments and BiPAP support as needed
• Titrate drips safely and accurately, collaborating closely with the care team
• Perform tracheostomy care, dressing changes, and total patient care including turning and mobility
• Operate and monitor CRRT, A-line, Flow-trac and IV pump therapies when indicated
• Document care in the Meditech EMR clearly and promptly
• Communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary team to advocate for patients
• Support unit policies and maintain patient ratios (typically 2:1) for safe care

Qualifications

• Active RN license (must be eligible to practice in Texas)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience (strong ICU background required)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• Proven experience with ventilator management, titrating drips, and caring for critically ill patients
• Comfortable with BiPAP, trach care, CRRT (preferred), and A-line management
• Compassionate team player who works well with physicians and nursing staff; able to adapt to rotating weekends

Education

• Active RN licensure (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing principles and oncology/BMT ICU experience
• Ventilator/vent management and BiPAP proficiency
• Drip titration and IV pump management
• Tracheostomy care and total patient care (turning, dressing changes)
• Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) experience (preferred)
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR and bedside monitoring tools (Flow-track, A-line)
