Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide patient-focused respiratory care and interventions with skill and compassion
- Assess respiratory status and implement treatment plans to improve patient outcomes
- Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment safely and effectively
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate high-quality care
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and home care
- Document assessments, treatments and patient responses accurately and timely
Qualifications
- Active Respiratory Therapist credential (CRT/RRT) or equivalent
- Current state respiratory therapy license or eligibility to obtain Missouri licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required; advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS) preferred
- Comfortable with respiratory equipment and ventilator management
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a care team
- Professional, reliable, and patient-centered approach to care
Education
- Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field (or equivalent clinical training)
- Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or allied health preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of respiratory therapy techniques, ventilators and airway management
- Skilled at patient assessment, oxygen therapy and aerosolized medication delivery
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Strong infection control practices and patient safety focus
