Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality respiratory care to patients in accordance with facility protocols
- Administer respiratory treatments and therapies safely and effectively
- Operate, monitor and troubleshoot respiratory equipment and devices
- Document patient assessments, treatments and responses accurately in the medical record
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient care
- Participate in orientation activities and contribute to a positive unit culture
Qualifications
- Active Respiratory Therapist license in Missouri or the ability to obtain state licensure
- CRT or RRT certification preferred
- Current Basic Life Support certification, with advanced certifications a plus
- Clinical experience in respiratory therapy; comfort with ventilator management and airway care
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively on a care team
Education
- Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent from an accredited program
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient respiratory assessment and monitoring
- Ventilator management and settings adjustment
- Airway management and oxygen therapy
- Familiarity with respiratory care equipment and infection control practices
- Accurate clinical documentation and time management
- Teamwork, problem solving and patient-centered care
