Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate respiratory care to pediatric patients, delivering treatments and therapies with attention to comfort and safety
Perform patient assessments and monitor respiratory status, escalating concerns to the care team as needed
Operate and manage ventilators and other respiratory equipment following facility protocols
Document treatments, responses, and clinical data accurately in the medical record
Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and rehab teams to create and execute patient-focused care plans
Participate in orientation and training activities to maintain high-quality, consistent care for patients

Qualifications

Active Respiratory Therapist license in state of practice (Ohio preferred)
Credentialed RT (RRT or CRT) preferred
Current BLS certification at minimum; pediatric life support certifications preferred
Comfort working with pediatric patients and families, with strong communication skills
Ability to pass required background checks and facility onboarding requirements

Education

Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Pediatric respiratory assessment and intervention
Ventilator management and weaning protocols
Airway management and oxygen therapy
Clinical documentation and charting best practices
Strong teamwork and clear communication in fast-paced clinical settings
Familiarity with infection control and safety standards
