Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate respiratory care to pediatric patients using evidence-based practices
• Administer and monitor respiratory treatments and therapies safely and effectively
• Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain respiratory equipment and ventilators
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care plans and device use in a clear, empathetic manner
• Accurately document interventions, patient responses, and clinical changes in the medical record
• Participate in orientation and ongoing competency training to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

• Completed respiratory therapy program (Associate degree or higher) or equivalent clinical training
• State respiratory therapist licensure as required (applicable to Ohio applicants)
• Credentials such as RRT or CRT preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; pediatric advanced life support preferred or as required
• Experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or related allied health field (required)
• Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical knowledge of pediatric respiratory assessment and interventions
• Familiarity with ventilators, airway management, and respiratory equipment
• Ability to prioritize care and respond calmly in acute situations
• Accurate documentation and charting skills
• Patient- and family-centered communication skills
• Infection control principles and safe handling of respiratory devices
