Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and monitor pediatric patients’ respiratory status, responding quickly and compassionately
Provide airway management and deliver respiratory treatments and therapies
Operate and troubleshoot ventilators and other respiratory equipment with confidence
Collaborate with physicians, nurses and families to create and adjust care plans
Document treatments and patient responses accurately and timely
Participate in orientation and training to support a safe, high-quality care environment

Qualifications

Active Respiratory Therapist license for the state of Ohio (or eligibility to obtain)
CRT or RRT credential preferred; RRT encouraged
Current BLS required; PALS preferred for pediatric practice
Comfort working with children and communicating with families
Professional, reliable, and able to function well in a fast-paced clinical setting
Previous pediatric respiratory experience is a plus

Education

Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or related clinical field (required)
Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or healthcare-related field (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

Strong skills in ventilator management and respiratory equipment operation
Knowledge of pediatric respiratory assessment and therapy modalities
Excellent clinical documentation and charting practices
Good communication and teamwork skills for interdisciplinary care
Ability to prioritize, triage, and respond effectively in urgent situations
Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
