Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care and treatments to pediatric patients with compassion and clinical excellence
• Assess patient respiratory status, interpret data, and recommend appropriate interventions
• Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain respiratory equipment and supplies
• Collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, and the multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care
• Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses accurately in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care plans and home care when appropriate
• Participate in orientation, training, and unit-based quality improvement activities

Qualifications

• Current state Respiratory Care license or eligibility to obtain licensure in Ohio
• CRT or RRT credential preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Previous pediatric respiratory experience preferred but new pediatric clinicians with strong RT skills are encouraged to apply
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Authorization to work in the U.S. (as required by employer policy)

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or graduation from an accredited respiratory care program; Bachelor’s degree preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and non-invasive ventilation knowledge
• Airway management, oxygen therapy, and aerosolized medication delivery
• Ability to perform arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation
• Competence with electronic medical records and clear clinical documentation
• Troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of respiratory equipment
• Patient- and family-centered communication skills
