Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms and med-surg patient status to detect changes early
• Administer IV therapy, IV antibiotics, tube feeds and PEG feedings safely and timely
• Communicate effectively with Charge RN, managers, rapid response teams and providers when acuity changes
• Provide excellent patient-centered care while collaborating with CNAs and interdisciplinary teammates
• Document care thoroughly in the Cerner EMR and support handoffs during shift changes
• Participate in unit huddles and follow unit guidelines to promote smooth operations and patient safety

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (state of practice) and ability to work in North Carolina
• Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience (telemetry/med-surg experience preferred)
• Telemetry rhythm capabilities and solid med-surg patient assessment skills (required)
• BLS required
• ACLS preferred
• Experience with Cerner EMR is a plus
• Comfortable administering IV therapies, tube/PEG feedings and IV antibiotics

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry rhythm interpretation and monitoring
• Med-surgical patient assessment and critical thinking
• IV therapy, IV antibiotic administration, tube and PEG feeding management
• Strong time management and communication skills
• Experience using Cerner electronic medical record
• Team-oriented attitude and willingness to help CNAs and fellow nurses
