Roles & Responsibilities

Perform thorough pre-operative assessments for pediatric patients to ensure safe, timely care
Prepare patients and families for surgery through compassionate education and clear communication
Coordinate with surgical and anesthesia teams to support efficient patient flow and room turnover
Document assessments, interventions, and handoffs accurately and promptly
Maintain a safe, child-friendly environment and uphold infection control standards

Qualifications

Active RN license in Washington or eligibility to obtain one
Pediatric nursing experience preferred
BLS required; PALS preferred
Current immunizations and ability to pass background and credentialing checks
Willingness to work focused 4-hour pre-op shifts and participate in orientation

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Pediatric assessment and family-centered care techniques
Comfort with pre-op preparation, medication administration, and basic IV/vascular access
Strong communication skills for working with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Accurate clinical documentation and efficient handoff practices
Ability to stay calm and organized in time-sensitive perioperative settings
