Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 4-hour pre-op day shift; exact start/end times and days to be confirmed (Pre-op, Pediatric)

Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare pediatric patients for surgery with compassionate, age-appropriate care
Perform focused pre-operative assessments and document findings clearly
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure timely patient flow
Provide family-centered education and emotional support to caregivers
Verify orders, allergies, and consent while following safety protocols
Assist with pre-op procedures and ensure patient comfort and safety

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) credential and hands-on pediatric experience (Pre-op/Pediatrics emphasized)
Familiarity with pre-operative nursing workflows and patient preparation
Excellent communication skills for interacting with kids and families
Ability to work in a fast-paced perioperative environment and follow protocols
Current basic life support certification preferred or willing to obtain

Education

Nursing diploma, ADN, or BSN (degree level may vary; nursing credential required)

Knowledge & Skills

Pediatric nursing principles and family-centered care
Pre-operative assessment and preparation processes
Clinical documentation and basic charting skills
Strong patient/family education and bedside manner
Teamwork and effective communication with perioperative staff
