Roles & Responsibilities

Perform thorough pre-operative assessments for pediatric patients
Prepare young patients and their families for procedures with clear, compassionate education
Coordinate care with the surgical team, anesthesia, and support staff to ensure smooth handoffs
Document assessments, interventions, and patient education accurately in the medical record
Maintain a safe, infection-controlled environment and adhere to facility protocols
Participate actively in required orientation and ongoing training to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

Current, active RN license (required)
Experience in pre-operative care and working with pediatric patients (as indicated)
Comfort working designated 4-hour shift assignments
Willingness to complete facility orientation as part of onboarding

Knowledge & Skills

Strong pediatric assessment and pre-op nursing skills
Clear, empathetic communication with children and families
Ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams
Accurate clinical documentation and attention to detail
Focused on patient safety, infection control, and procedure readiness
