Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care to pediatric patients in the PICU with compassion and clinical expertise
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Perform ongoing patient assessments and respond promptly to changes in condition
- Administer medications, monitor invasive lines, and manage advanced life support equipment as needed
- Document patient care accurately and communicate effectively with families and care teams
- Participate in orientation and unit training to maintain competency and improve patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Active RN license in California or eligibility to obtain one prior to start
- Experience or training in pediatric intensive care (PICU) preferred
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required; PALS and ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
- Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced critical care settings and adapt to changing patient needs
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Willingness to attend orientation as provided
Education
- ADN or BSN in Nursing; BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical knowledge of pediatric critical care principles and interventions
- Skill with monitoring equipment, ventilators, and hemodynamic support
- Ability to triage, prioritize, and multitask under pressure
- Proficient documentation and electronic medical record use
- Family-centered care approach and effective patient/family communication
