Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, family-centered critical care to pediatric patients in the PICU
• Assess and monitor patient condition, recognizing and responding to changes quickly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Educate and support families during stressful and emotional situations
• Document patient status, interventions and outcomes clearly and timely
• Participate in unit orientation and uphold unit policies and safety standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in California or compact state where applicable
• Current BLS certification required; PALS certification strongly preferred or required per facility policy
• Experience in pediatric critical care or PICU environment preferred
• Comfortable with ventilator management and advanced monitoring in a critical care setting
• Strong clinical assessment, communication and teamwork skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of pediatric critical care principles and PICU workflows
• Skill with pediatric dosing, IV management and emergency interventions
• Ability to operate and interpret data from advanced monitoring and life support equipment
• Strong prioritization and time management in high-acuity situations
• Compassionate family-centered care and clear communication with caregivers
