Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Orientation required; 4-hour clinical shifts (exact start/end times and regular days to be confirmed with scheduling team)

Candidate Pay Rate: $44 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and monitor critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU with vigilance and compassion
Administer medications and therapies accurately and according to physician orders
Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary care team to develop and update care plans
Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and participate in emergency interventions
Provide family-centered care by educating and supporting families during stressful times
Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes clearly and timely in the medical record
Participate in orientation and unit-specific training to ensure safe, high-quality care

Qualifications

Current, unrestricted RN license in Ohio
Experience or strong interest in pediatric critical care and PICU practice
BLS required; PALS and/or ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-based critical care environment
Excellent communication skills and a commitment to family-centered care
Willingness to complete orientation as part of onboarding

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Strong assessment skills for pediatric critical care
IV management, medication administration, and ventilator basics
Ability to prioritize tasks in emergency situations
Skilled at family communication and education
Team collaboration and clear documentation practices
