Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
• Assess, monitor and interpret patient status to inform timely interventions
• Administer medications and advanced therapies safely and accurately
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists and the wider care team to coordinate patient care
• Provide family-centered education and support, keeping families informed and involved
• Document care clearly and efficiently in the patient record
• Participate in orientation and precepting to support new team members and maintain unit excellence

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or eligible for compact licensure
• Clinical experience in pediatric critical care or PICU preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications or willingness to obtain
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure
• Comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary team and supporting family-centered care

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of pediatric critical care principles and PICU-specific treatments
• Skill with advanced monitoring, ventilator basics and IV/central line management
• Ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient condition quickly
• Effective, compassionate communication with patients, families and clinical teams
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and clear clinical documentation
