Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality bedside nursing care to PCU and acute care patients
• Assess and monitor patient condition and respond promptly to changes in status
• Administer medications and treatments following established protocols and safety standards
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Cerner
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-focused care
• Apply BLS and ACLS knowledge during emergencies to support positive outcomes
• Maintain unit guidelines and support a positive patient experience through communication and professionalism
• Adapt to unit staffing patterns and help onboard or orient other team members when needed

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible to work in North Carolina for this assignment)
• Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience, preferably in PCU, acute care, or ICU
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (advanced skills expected)
• Experience with Cerner or similar electronic documentation systems
• Comfort working overnight 12+ hour shifts and adapting to facility scheduling needs
• Willingness to work a travel assignment and float to ED as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and monitoring skills for acute and progressive care patients
• Proficient clinical documentation skills in Cerner
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients with varying acuity
• Effective communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary staff
• Familiarity with acute care procedures and emergency response protocols
• Adaptability to unit-specific policies and staffing models
