Contract Type: Per-Diem

Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate post-anesthesia care to pediatric patients in the PACU
Monitor vital signs and patient status closely, responding promptly to changes
Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and facility protocols
Collaborate and communicate clearly with surgical teams and families to support continuity of care
Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress accurately in the medical record
Participate actively in orientation and unit-based training to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Ohio license or compact/eligible preferred)
Experience or strong clinical background in PACU and pediatrics (per posting core skills)
Willingness to complete required orientation for the unit
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain per facility policy

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

Pediatric post-anesthesia assessment and monitoring
PACU workflows and safety protocols
Pain management and recovery interventions for children
Strong clinical judgment and timely response to patient changes
Clear, empathetic communication with families and multidisciplinary teams
Accurate clinical documentation and familiarity with electronic medical records
