Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess pediatric patients recovering from anesthesia and monitor recovery progress
Administer medications and manage IV lines safely and accurately
Continuously monitor vital signs and intervene promptly for changes in condition
Provide compassionate family education and clear communication during recovery
Collaborate closely with anesthesia, surgical teams, and perioperative staff for seamless care
Document patient status, interventions, and handoffs clearly and thoroughly
Maintain a safe, calming environment tailored to the needs of children and families

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio required
Current BLS certification required; PALS preferred
Experience in PACU or pediatric nursing strongly preferred
Comfort with pediatric assessment, airway management, and post-anesthesia recovery
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in fast-paced teams
Willingness to participate in orientation and unit-specific training

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Post-anesthesia care principles and pediatric recovery protocols
Pain management and medication administration
Pediatric assessment and age-appropriate calming techniques
Accurate clinical documentation and EMR navigation
Team communication, triage, and handoff best practices
Infection control and patient safety procedures
