Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, family-centered post-anesthesia care for pediatric patients in the PACU
Monitor vital signs and recovery status, intervening promptly when changes occur
Administer medications and manage pain according to physician orders and protocols
Communicate clearly and compassionately with families about recovery expectations
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team to ensure smooth transitions
Document patient status and interventions accurately in the medical record
Participate in orientation and unit-based training to maintain best practices

Qualifications

Current RN license (Ohio) in good standing
Experience or training in PACU and pediatric nursing preferred
BLS required; PALS and/or advanced pediatric certifications highly desirable
Comfortable providing care for children across a range of ages and acuity levels
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of post-anesthesia recovery processes and pediatric airway management
Skillful assessment of pediatric vital signs and pain management techniques
Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain calm under pressure
Excellent family-centered communication and teaching skills
