Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide attentive post-anesthesia care for pediatric patients in the PACU
Monitor and assess vital signs and recovery status and escalate concerns promptly
Administer medications and treatments as ordered, following safety protocols
Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team
Document patient status, interventions, and handoffs accurately and clearly
Educate caregivers on post-operative care, pain management, and discharge instructions
Support orientation and training activities for new team members as needed

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Ohio
Experience or strong interest in PACU and pediatric nursing (preferred)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
Demonstrated ability to work calmly in fast-paced perioperative environments
Strong communication skills for working with families and multidisciplinary teams

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Post-anesthesia assessment and monitoring for pediatric patients
Pain management principles and pediatric medication administration
IV therapy and basic airway management knowledge
Familiarity with perioperative workflows and PACU recovery protocols
Accurate clinical documentation and electronic medical record usage
Infection control practices and pediatric safety standards
Team collaboration and effective caregiver education skills
