Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgery
Monitor and assess patient vital signs, pain levels, and emergence from anesthesia
Administer medications and interventions as ordered, following safety protocols
Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and the perioperative team to ensure smooth handoffs
Educate patients and families on recovery expectations and discharge instructions
Document patient status and interventions accurately in the medical record
Escalate changes in patient condition promptly and participate in rapid response when needed

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Experience or interest in PACU/post-anesthesia care
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
Strong clinical assessment skills and comfort with monitoring post-anesthesia patients
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, ASN, or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of post-anesthesia recovery and common postoperative complications
Skilled in patient monitoring, airway management basics, and pain management
Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
Ability to prioritize and respond quickly in a fast-paced perioperative environment
Collaborative approach to working with interdisciplinary teams
