Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and stabilize post-operative patients, providing vigilant assessment and timely interventions
• Manage ventilators and GTTs as needed for recovery patients, ensuring safety and comfort
• Collaborate with surgical teams and anesthesia to coordinate seamless transfers and handoffs
• Document patient status and care in Pyxis/Meditech accurately and promptly
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining a 1:2 patient ratio
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and multidisciplinary staff to support positive outcomes

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant clinical experience (as listed in the posting)
• Experience in PACU or recovery settings and comfort working with ICU/ER backgrounds
• Proven ability to manage vents and GTTs in a post-operative environment
• Comfortable working 12-hour day shifts on a weekend schedule and handling on-call expectations after 10:00 PM

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with Pyxis and Meditech EMR systems
• Familiarity with GE monitors and standard PACU monitoring equipment
• Clinical skills in ventilator management and GTT use
• Recovery RN/PACU workflow and post-operative patient care processes
• Team player with strong communication skills; flexible and reliable in a fast-paced surgical services unit
