Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate perioperative nursing care to pediatric patients in the operating room
• Prepare the OR and instruments, maintain sterile technique, and ensure a safe surgical environment
• Assess patients and collaborate with the surgical team to develop and execute care plans
• Educate and support families before, during, and after procedures with clear, empathetic communication
• Document care accurately in the patient record and communicate any changes in condition
• Participate in orientation and team training to maintain high standards of pediatric perioperative care

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in Ohio
• Experience in operating room nursing with pediatric patients preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) strongly preferred
• Perioperative certification (CNOR) is a plus but not required
• Comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary surgical team and communicating with families

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of perioperative nursing principles and sterile technique
• Familiarity with pediatric patient care and family-centered communication
• Ability to anticipate surgical team needs and manage instruments efficiently
• Strong clinical assessment and infection control skills
• Proficient documentation and basic familiarity with electronic medical records
