Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate perioperative nursing care for pediatric patients in the operating room
• Prepare and maintain sterile field and surgical instrumentation for procedures
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and the perioperative team to ensure smooth case flow
• Monitor patient status before, during, and after procedures and communicate changes promptly
• Ensure accurate documentation of care, meds, and surgical counts
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training to maintain competency in pediatric OR practices

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse experience with demonstrated Operating Room (OR) and pediatric nursing skills
• Per-diem availability and ability to work 4-hour OR shifts as scheduled
• Experience in perioperative nursing and familiarity with sterile technique
• Comfort working with pediatric surgical patients and their families
• Willingness to complete required orientation and facility onboarding

Education

• Registered Nurse (RN) qualification — relevant nursing education completed; perioperative training/experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of perioperative processes and sterile technique
• Familiarity with pediatric patient needs, positioning, and safety considerations
• Ability to assist with surgical instrumentation and case setup
• Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced OR environments
• Accurate clinical documentation and adherence to safety protocols
