Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care in the operating room for a variety of general surgical cases
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and the perioperative team to ensure safe, efficient procedures
- Maintain sterile technique and ensure proper handling of instruments and supplies
- Assess patient condition pre-, intra-, and post-operatively and communicate changes promptly
- Support patient education and comfort while advocating for patient safety and dignity
- Document care accurately and timely in the patient record to support continuity of care
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) credential
- Experience in Operating Room (OR) settings — demonstrated OR experience preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Strong teamwork and communication skills in fast-paced surgical environments
- Ability to follow sterile technique and OR protocols consistently
Education
- Active RN licensure; degree in Nursing (ADN or BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of perioperative nursing principles and sterile technique
- Familiarity with common surgical instruments and procedures
- Skilled in patient assessment, monitoring, and perioperative documentation
- Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and prioritize tasks under pressure
- Strong infection control and safety practices
