Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to Med/Surgical patients
• Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Document patient care and progress clearly and timely in the EHR
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns as needed
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and adhere to infection control protocols

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or eligible to obtain one
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS) preferred as applicable
• Previous Med/Surgical nursing experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surgical nursing practices and standards
• Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
• Comfortable with electronic health record documentation
• Excellent communication and patient/family education skills
• Time management and prioritization in a dynamic clinical setting
• Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines
