Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for med/surg pediatric patients with skill and compassion
- Perform focused assessments and communicate changes in condition promptly
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Document care and patient responses in the electronic health record in a timely way
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement patient-focused care plans
- Support families with education and clear communication during their stay
- Participate in orientation and training to maintain clinical competence and compliance
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license in Missouri or compact RN license eligible for practice
- Experience in medical-surgical nursing and pediatric care preferred
- Current BLS certification required; PALS preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable working per diem shifts and adaptable to varying schedules
- Ability to complete orientation as indicated by the facility
- Positive references and ability to pass required background and health screenings
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong pediatric assessment and med/surg clinical skills
- Clear, compassionate communication with patients and families
- Accurate medication administration and documentation practices
- Basic familiarity with common EHR workflows and clinical charting
- Teamwork, flexibility, and a patient-centered approach to care
