Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg pediatric patients
• Assess patient condition and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
• Monitor patient progress, recognize changes in condition, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care
• Maintain a safe, organized clinical environment and adhere to infection control practices

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact-state eligibility
• Experience in Med/Surg nursing with pediatric patient exposure preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; PALS and ACLS preferred or encouraged
• Comfort working 12+ hour shifts and managing a full patient assignment
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to pass required background checks and comply with facility onboarding

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing principles and pediatric care considerations
• Proficiency with medication administration, IV therapy, and patient monitoring
• Good clinical judgment and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced unit
• Electronic health record (EHR) documentation skills and attention to detail
• Compassionate patient- and family-centered communication
• Team collaboration and ability to work effectively with physicians, therapists, and support staff
