Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to pediatric med/surg patients
Assess patients, monitor vital signs, and communicate changes to the care team
Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and family members to create patient-centered plans
Document care and patient responses clearly and timely in the medical record
Support family education and provide empathetic guidance during hospital stays
Participate in orientation and unit-specific training to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

Current, active Registered Nurse license for Washington state
Experience or strong interest in Med/Surgical and Pediatric nursing
Completion of required orientation prior to independent practice on the unit
BLS required; PALS and other pediatric certifications preferred or supported
Strong communication, assessment, and teamwork skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
BSN preferred but all qualified RNs are encouraged to apply

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of pediatric med/surgical nursing principles
Skilled in patient assessment, medication administration, and IV care
Comfortable working with interdisciplinary teams and family-centered care
Good charting practices and attention to detail
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and stay calm in fast-paced situations
