Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate nursing care to pediatric and medical-surgical patients
• Perform thorough assessments, monitor patient status, and act on clinical changes
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and implement care plans
• Educate patients and families on procedures, diagnoses, and discharge plans
• Document patient care clearly and timely in the electronic medical record
• Participate in unit-based initiatives to improve patient outcomes and experience

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in California (required)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; PALS and/or pediatric experience strongly preferred
• Clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing and working with pediatric patients
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid grasp of pediatric and adult medical-surgical nursing principles
• Skilled in patient assessment, monitoring, and clinical decision-making
• Familiarity with medication administration and safe dosing practices
• Proficient documentation and the ability to maintain accurate patient records
• Team-oriented approach with strong interpersonal and communication skills
