Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a Med/Surg pediatric unit
• Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate excellent patient care
• Educate patients and families with clarity and empathy about care plans and discharge
• Participate in orientation and unit processes to maintain high standards of care
• Respond to changes in patient condition promptly and escalate when necessary

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri (or compact state privileges where applicable)
• Experience or comfort working in Med/Surg and pediatric patient populations
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; pediatric certifications (PALS) preferred
• Demonstrated clinical judgment, strong communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to participate in required orientation and unit onboarding

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing principles and pediatric care considerations
• Proficiency with medication administration and documentation best practices
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and accurate charting
• Skilled in patient assessment, IV therapy basics, and post-operative care
• Infection control, safety protocols, and family-centered care approach
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with patients, families, and colleagues
