Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate med/surg nursing care to pediatric patients with skill and heart
• Conduct thorough assessments and document findings clearly in the patient record
• Administer medications and treatments accurately while following safety protocols
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and execute patient-centered care plans
• Educate families and caregivers about conditions, treatments, and discharge plans
• Escalate changes in patient condition promptly to ensure timely intervention
• Maintain unit standards for infection control, safety, and patient confidentiality

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Missouri
• Experience in med/surg nursing with pediatric patient population preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable with pediatric medication administration and age-appropriate assessment
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to pass facility-specific onboarding and any required background checks

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN required; BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of med/surg nursing principles applied to pediatric patients
• Skilled in pediatric assessment, vital sign interpretation, and growth/development considerations
• Proficient charting and documentation practices (electronic health record experience a plus)
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and maintain composure during higher-acuity situations
• Excellent family-centered communication and patient education techniques
