Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care for Med/Surg pediatric patients
- Perform thorough patient assessments and deliver timely interventions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient-centered care
- Administer medications and document care accurately according to policy
- Educate patients and families about treatments, procedures and aftercare
- Maintain clear, professional communication during shift handoffs and documentation
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (state licensure required)
- Experience or strong interest in Med/Surg nursing with pediatric focus
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
- Comfort working in a team-oriented clinical environment and supporting family-centered care
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred where available
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid clinical assessment and critical thinking skills for Med/Surg and pediatric patients
- Medication administration and IV therapy knowledge
- Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
- Strong communication and patient/family education skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical setting
