Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg pediatric unit
- Assess and monitor patient status, document changes, and communicate effectively with the care team
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families on condition, treatments, and discharge instructions in a clear, caring way
- Participate in orientation and training to maintain high standards of care and unit consistency
- Advocate for patient needs and contribute to a positive, family-centered environment
Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- BLS required; PALS preferred or willingness to obtain
- Experience or strong interest in Medical/Surgical nursing and pediatrics
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced inpatient environment and collaborating with a team
- Good clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and a patient-first attitude
- Ability to complete orientation and unit-specific training as required
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

- Clinical assessment and vital sign interpretation
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Pediatric patient care principles and family-centered communication
- Electronic medical record charting and care coordination
- Infection control and safety protocols
- Team collaboration and effective handoff communication
