Start Date: 04-15-2026

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 8.5-hour shifts; specific start/end times and days to be confirmed with the scheduling team (orientation required)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg unit
Perform thorough assessments and develop and implement individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately in the medical record
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary teammates to optimize outcomes
Monitor patients for changes in condition and escalate concerns promptly
Support and precept new hires during orientation to build a strong, cohesive team

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of Louisiana
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications (ACLS, PALS) a plus
Med/Surg clinical experience preferred
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; equivalent clinical experience considered

Knowledge & Skills

Solid understanding of Med/Surg nursing principles and patient assessment
Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
Experience with electronic medical record documentation
Good clinical judgment, critical thinking, and time management
Teamwork, patient education, and effective communication skills
