Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide excellent bedside nursing care to adult Med/Surg patients with compassion and clinical excellence
• Perform thorough patient assessments and create prioritized nursing care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and support staff to coordinate patient care
• Document patient condition, interventions, and outcomes clearly and timely in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning to support smooth transitions
• Respond quickly and effectively to changes in patient condition and emergencies
• Practice and promote infection prevention, patient safety, and quality initiatives on the unit

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license for Louisiana or compact RN licensure recognized by the state
• Clinical experience or strong interest in Medical-Surgical nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or as required by unit
• Ability to pass facility onboarding requirements and credentialing
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid Med/Surg clinical knowledge including assessment, med administration, and wound care
• Comfort with IV therapy and common inpatient nursing procedures
• Proficient documentation skills in electronic health records
• Strong prioritization and time management in a fast-paced environment
• Patient-centered approach and culturally sensitive care
