Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a Med/Surg unit
• Perform thorough assessments, monitor patient status, and escalate concerns promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to orders
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans
• Document patient care clearly and timely in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Contribute to a positive unit culture by supporting colleagues and participating in quality initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or eligibility to obtain licensure
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS or specialty certifications preferred
• Comfortable working 12.5-hour Med/Surg shifts and delivering high-quality bedside care
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Prior Med/Surg experience is a plus but enthusiastic, patient-focused new grads may be considered

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient assessment and clinical decision making
• Proficient with medication administration and IV therapies
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients safely
• Good infection control practices and adherence to safety protocols
• Strong interpersonal skills and patient education abilities
