Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a medical-surgical unit
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications, treatments, and document care accurately and timely
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Provide patient and family education to support recovery and discharge planning
• Monitor patient status and escalate changes promptly to the care team
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact/multistate RN licensure as applicable
• Clinical experience or training in Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; additional certifications encouraged
• Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and communication skills
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to complete facility onboarding, background checks, and required immunizations

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and best practices
• Proficiency in medication administration and infusion safety
• Skilled in patient assessment, wound care, and mobility/safety techniques
• Effective documentation and time management skills
• Teamwork-oriented with strong communication and patient advocacy abilities
• Comfortable using electronic health record systems (EHR) and clinical tech
