Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate Med/Surg nursing care to assigned patients following facility policies
• Assess patient condition, implement nursing interventions, and evaluate responses to care
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and update individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Monitor and report changes in patient status promptly to the care team
• Support unit workflows by assisting with admissions, discharges, and transitions of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — ability to obtain Hawaii RN licensure required (confirm state requirements)
• Clinical experience in Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing — confident bedside skills
• Current BLS certification; ACLS or PALS preferred or available depending on unit needs
• Strong clinical assessment, delegation, and time-management abilities
• Professional communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of Med/Surg patient care, med administration, and wound care
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate charting practices
• Ability to prioritize multiple patients and manage clinical escalation
• Comfortable with telemetry monitoring and common inpatient procedures
• Patient education and discharge planning skills
