Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered nursing care on a Medical-Surgical unit with professionalism and compassion
• Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and respond promptly to changes in status
• Administer medications and treatments accurately while following established protocols
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members and communicate effectively with patients and families
• Document care thoroughly and maintain accurate patient records
• Prioritize tasks to manage a busy Med/Surg caseload while promoting positive patient outcomes
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (Georgia) or compact RN license where applicable
• Prior Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
• BLS required; ACLS or specialty certifications a plus depending on unit needs
• Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and time-management abilities
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and adapt to unit staffing needs

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing principles, post-op care, and common medical conditions
• Proficiency with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
• Skilled in patient assessment, IV therapy, wound care, and medication management
• Comfortable collaborating with physicians, therapists, and ancillary staff
• Good critical thinking, prioritization, and delegation skills
