Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patient condition, recognizing changes and escalating concerns promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately per physician orders
• Coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary team members for smooth transitions
• Document patient status and interventions clearly in the electronic health record
• Provide patient- and family-centered education to support recovery and discharge planning
• Participate in unit-based quality initiatives to improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Louisiana (or compact RN privileges where applicable)
• BLS certification required; ACLS and other specialty certifications preferred
• Hands-on experience in Medical-Surgical nursing; comfort with Med/Surg patient populations
• Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communicator who works well within interdisciplinary teams

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in patient assessment, medication administration, and basic wound care
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) documentation best practices
• Ability to triage and prioritize multiple patient needs with sound clinical judgment
• Comfort with IV therapy, post-op care, and common med-surg procedures
• Compassionate bedside manner and patient education skills
