Shift Type: Variable 12-hour shifts; Night shifts (Friday-Saturday) and Day shifts (Saturday-Sunday); 2 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule; on-call standby required.

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $93 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive care in the Family Birthing Center including labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum (LDRP).
Manage OB triage, antepartum testing, and newborn stabilization in a 2-bed NICU.
Titrate pitocin and occasionally insulin drips as needed.
Collaborate with OB, anesthesia, and respiratory therapy for deliveries and emergencies.
Maintain AWHONN guidelines for patient ratios: 1:2 labor, 1:1 delivery, 1:4 mother-baby couplets.
Participate in on-call standby with 30-minute callback response time.
Orientation and precepting of new staff as needed.

Qualifications

Must have at least 1 year of LDRP experience; 3 years preferred.
Valid RN license in California.
ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced EFM certifications required.
Comfortable with NRP at delivery and titrating drips.
Must be able to circulate in OR for C-sections.
Cannot have been directly employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity in the last 12 months.

Knowledge & Skills

Labor and delivery nursing including twin deliveries and high-risk pregnancies.
Mother-baby couplet care and postpartum recovery.
Fetal monitoring using Fetalink system.
OR circulating experience for cesarean sections.
Newborn resuscitation and stabilization.
OB emergency management and patient education.
